Quest’estate abbiamo scoperto una triste pagina della nostra politica estera. La pioggia di fuoco abbattutasi sul peschereccio italiano in acque internazionali proveniva da un’imbarcazione italiana , cioè pagata dal contribuente italiano , e con ben sei militi della nostra Guardia di Finanza che hanno fatto da spettatori immobili a un attacco armato da parte degli amici libici. Abbiamo scoperto, in sostanza, che noi italiani paghiamo degli stranieri che in un battello, anche quello comprato e regalato da us, shooting at Italian fishermen working! L’Organizzazione delle Nazione Unite ha chiesto di visitare i luoghi di detenzione senza ricevere alcuna risposta. L’Eritrea è anche responsabile di finanziare Al-Sheebab e le corti religiose islamiche che seminano attentati in Etiopia e in Somalia e che, per loro stessa ammissione, fanno ormai parte del fronte antioccidentale legato ad Al-Quaeda e agli altri gruppi della Jiaad islamica che intendono destabilizzare l’intero Corno d’Africa. Il governo eritreo è stato denunciato dall' EAJA (Eastern Africa Journalists Association) per l’arresto e la tortura dei giornalisti eritrei colpevoli di non pensarla come il Presidente Afawork che vieta l’ingresso in Eritrea anche ai giornalisti italiani ed europei. L’8 e 9 luglio 2010 i cittadini eritrei in Italia hanno protestato davanti all’Ambasciata della Libia a Roma e presso le Prefetture italiane because many Eritreans who arrive in our country to escape the regime of Isay Afawork are inexplicably returned to Libya where they disappear forever in labor camps in the desert. The UN, the International Red Cross, the Association for the Protection of Human Rights of the Eritrean People, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Reporters Without Borders have called on the international community to cease the Eritrean regime and its repressive policy of support for Islamic terrorism. Despite all this, the Italian Government maintains good relations with Afawork Isay and his regime. Isay is a good friend of Prime Minister Berlusconi and often goes on vacation in Italy. His scheme is financed by Italy and the Italian Cooperation. His aides have met with our ministers and politicians after the release of UN sanctions.
In Nairobi in Kenya in late August 2010, we found bags with maps of the terrorist attacks and arrested a dozen men who were planning to commit attacks. Among the objectives was also the International House, the skyscraper that is home to a Somali radio, other international representatives, the Italian Development Cooperation and the Embassy of Italy in Nairobi. It is astonishing that the Government of the Italian Republic, that of a European nation that calls itself liberal and democratic, dictatorial regimes have for friends and those friendships do not lead to any useful result for the Italian people as seen in the case of fishermen in Mazara del Vallo machine-gunned by the Libyans in international waters.
It 'clear that when foreign policy is so fragile, ambiguous and unfair that the nation can not hope to produce to obtain useful results, nor for its citizens, nor in terms of a strategy that is winning in the international arena. Italy needs a strong relationships with Arab and African countries for cultural, social and economic issues and this is all the more reason, for two of its former colonies such as Libya and Eritrea. But Italy should never fail in pursuit of national interests and the liberal principles on which it based its constitutional and historical identity.
